It is the mission of the Rainy River District Festival of the Performing Arts to provide a fun and rewarding opportunity for people from our district to showcase, develop and nurture their dramatic and/or musical abilities.

The Festival is open to everyone—anyone who can read, memorize, sing or play an instrument. (Enrolment in formal lessons is NOT required.) All ages from kindergarten to adult can participate in individual, duet, small group, or large group performances.

Why participate in the Festival?
Participating in the Festival is fun, increases self-confidence, and develops stage presence and other performance skills, which will have a positive influence in school and life. All entrants receive a certificate and positive feedback from experienced professionals in competitive or non-competitive categories. In addition, there are a wide variety of awards available at all age levels and some will be honoured by being invited to perform in the Festival Highlights Concert on May 10, 2016 at the Townshend Theatre at 6:30 pm.
